REMEMBERING - March 2014

Remembering

This months beautiful sketch, made by DT-member Nadia Cannizzo, really inspired me! I just had to use the brand new String of Hearts (DA1017). Such an amazing chipboard piece and you can use it in so many ways. The best thing is, you get three sizes! I have used the larger one on my layout. I cut a piece of the Heart of Strings off (saving it for another project!) and painted it white. I used a distress tool to rough up the edges and decorated with pearls.
Underneath the large flowercluster I have used a Scroll Border #1 (DA0219), also painted white. The green flowers are Dusty in Blooms, color Wild Moss (DA0804). As a final touch I have added Chevrons (DA0992), painted white and then with Dusty in Color Forrest (DA0919) and Clear Gloss Varnish (DA0901). I often use gesso to touch the edges of my flowers, but this time I used a sponge and some Dusty in Color Forrest to add some green to the large white flower.

SOPHIA - WEDDING CANVAS - February 2014
Sophia canvas
This is my beautiful sister, Sophia, on her wedding day. When I got this photo, I knew it needed something special. Then I got my DT-box from Dusty Attic, and in it was a large Window with Shutters (DA0946) and I just knew it was the perfect chippie for this amazing photo!

DECEMBER - February 2014

December
The best thing about chipboard is the versitality! You can use so many combinations together and create something completely unique!  For this layout I have played with Art Deco corners (DA1007) that I painted with Dusty in Colour, Forrest (DA0919), to match the dark green paper I have as a frame of this page. I then arranged flowers and Scrolls #10 (DA0762), painted white. I have also added Snowflakes (DA0501), also painted white, the perfect chippie for Winter pages! The smaller ones I also covered with Clear Gloss Varnish (DA0901) and some glitter. The title December (DA0200) was also painted white and then with Clear Gloss Varnish.

CANVAS - February 2014

Canvas
I started with a Rustic Farm Fence (DA0855) behind my photo, I painted the fence white and then distressed it a bit. The new Mini Hinges (DA1006) are just adorable and I decided to make them grungy and rusty as a contrast to all the white and pink on this page. I have a tutorial further down on how I used Dusty Attics new Rusting Powder (DA0995) on the hinges - love this stuff!! The Birds on a Branch #3 (DA1003) I painted white, misted with light brown glimmer mist and then covered with Clear Gloss Varnish (DA0901) and Clear Crackle Varnish (DA0900). I cut a little piece of the branch and put it into the smaller flower cluster on top of the page.
