Birdhouse by Tina Dalton

I created this Dusty Attic Bird house a while back, I have decorated it using Maja
Design papers. These Birdhouses are so much fun to create,
and so many ways you could decorate them, its really just a case of letting
your creative mind take you away.I knew in my mind I wanted to create a feature
with hanging hearts and wanted a distressed shabby look, I added some hearts
cut from MDF board and attached them to the bottom using tiny cup rings.

thanks for looking and make sure you pop over to  Dusty Attic and check
out all the amazing Off the page creations that are available,
They really do have an amazing Off the page product range and with Christmas
creeping upon us at a very fast rate ( Sorry ) they have an amazing
Christmas range including great Advent calenders.

Believe - Sketch Challenge - Helena Johansson

This layout is made after Dusty Attic's August sketch. I have used one of the new title chippies (loooove these!) from Word Pack #4 (DA1077) and a Decorative Frame #2 (DA0208). I have painted both pieces with three shades of green Dusty in Color: Pesto, Crushed Olive and Forrest. I have then given the chippies a coat of Clear Gloss Varnish.

I have also used a Mini Hinge (DA1006). This piece I just painted white and then with Clear Gloss Varnish.

A couple of close ups:

I have used Dusty in Blooms, Vintage Rose (DA0803) together with flowers from Petaloo. I just love the purple with the fresh green!

And here is the sketch for August!

Just ME - Heather McMahon

Hi again scrappers!

I've been busy with my Dusty Attic chippies again! I took some amazing underwater photos in Bali and knew I had to use the Dusty Attic Seagrass chippies with them. How perfect are these?

My daughter and I were snorkeling and came across this stone shrine in the water. This is definitely not what we were expecting! Courtney was fascinated by it. We played around there for ages. Courtney loved posing in meditative positions or just diving down to it. My husband reckons it looks like this photo is photoshopped. It definitely isn't! She's not sitting on that coral behind her either (we would never do that!) - it's quite a way behind her.

I love the jagged edges of this chippie title. I just painted the first word and used Tinby Metallic Melts on the second word.

I used four different coloured paints on the surface of the Seagrass Chippies to create that mottled, underwater look. To help the shapes stand out from the background I used a bit of white and denim paints on some of the edges. I went berserk with crazy stitching on this layout!

Unfortunately, the photo of the main layout here doesn't show the shafts of sunlight that are shining through the water. To accentuate them I painted shafts of light above the pic. I created a trail of bubbles with the
small dots chippies to follow on from the bubbles in the photo.

~ Caribbean Sunset Sprtiz
~ Tuscan Sun Spritz
~Rolling In the Hay Vibez
~ Copperhead Dimensionz
~ I'm not Limon Inklingz
~ Gosh Garnet Inklingz

Dusty Attic Products used:
~ Wildflower #2
~ Vine Border

Rather than try and explain the steps, I've made up a video tutorial to show you how I did it.  So grab a cuppa coffee/or tea sit back and enjoy!

I hope you enjoy watching my video and will want to give your own page a try!  Here are a few closeups of the page that you can view at your leisure....

I used some blooms from Tresors de luxe to decorate the corner cluster by the photo.

I added a little texture with somehome made texture paste with a stencil and I added a shabby brick look by lightly brushing on some Copperhead Dimensionz with the tip of my finger.  The Dusty Attic vine I painted with some 'I'm Not Limon' Inklingz.

After spritzing my background with a variety of Shimmerz Spritz's, I added some stamping and rub-on's. I also fussy cut some elements from Prima Almanac papers to embellish.  I painted the new

I hope you enjoyed my project today and will give these gorgeous HERE. And remember, to receive your own FREE/Bonus Shimmerz product be sure to mention my name in the INTRUCTIONS TO MERCHANT area of your order.

Happy Scrappin'

Moments - Heath McMahon - August Sketch

Hi there,

It's Heather M with you today with my Dusty Attic sketch layout for August. I love this sketch!
Here it is:
To enter just add your link on the right hand side bar

I followed the sketch pretty closely. I love this photo of my daughter pondering life at a beautiful water-lily covered lake in Bali and was busting to scrap it.

Most of the products on this page are from Dusty Attic. All the paints, flowers and chipboard are. The only other products are Tinby Designs Metallic Melts and some Heidi Swapp ephemera that I've coloured with Dusty Attic Paints.

I used two colours of paints and Metallic Melts on the title.

I coloured some of the flowers with Sunshine paint mixed with water and sprayed it on.

On my blog I have a step by step of how I made the background. It's very simple! You can find it at www.heathermcmahon09.blogspot.com.au

Dusty Attic products used:

Flowers:

  • Dusty in Bloom Bridal Veil, Evening Blush, Cornsilk and Grassy Knoll
  • Dusty Roses in various colours
Dusty in Colour Paints:
  • Alabaster, Dusty Pink, Sugar Plum, Cashmere, Sunshine and Jungle Green
Chipboard:
  • Word Pack #4

Happy Scrappin'!
